Tom Ford SA is a luxury fashion house founded by designer Tom Ford in 2005. Ford was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1965. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in architecture, he moved to New York City and worked as an assistant to designer Calvin Klein. In 1992, Ford launched his own line of men’s clothing called Tabac. The line was acquired by Neiman Marcus in 1997 and Ford retired from designing clothes full-time. In 2005, Ford founded his own fashion house, Tom Ford SA. The label’s first collection featured a range of sleek and sophisticated clothing for men and women. The brand quickly gained a following for its luxurious designs and high quality fabrics. In 2014, Tom Ford opened its first international store in Tokyo. In 2017, the brand announced plans to open stores in Paris and London later that year.
